I’m always looking to expand my holiday decor, without spending a fortune! There are so many great holiday accent pieces out there this time of the year, but they can really start to add up. I wanted to keep the soft, natural feel of our home’s
interior using creams, whites and elements of nature to decorate this
year. I think it has a very calming effect.
I found some inexpensive mini pumpkins and gourds at my local Dollar Store and decided to try a simple DIY project that would let me incorporate these bright and ugly plastic pumpkins into our autumn decor.
So I simply spray painted the pumpkins in a cream colour. I used Rust-oleum Painter’s Touch Heirloom White in Satin. I gave the pumpkins two coats to ensure they were fully covered. Once dry I used a hot glue gun to wrap the stems in twine. And voila! I now have these adorably simple little pumpkins and gourds!
