Today I want to share a fun little project that Nick made for the holidays. It’s quick and easy. And best of all, we had everything we needed to make it on hand, so it was free too!
To start, find an image you want to use as your stencil. We printed a moose head that we found online. Carefully, cut out the image using an X-Acto knife.
Next you will need a piece of wood to stencil on. We had a scrap piece of pine board (11 x 8) from a previous project laying around, so we decided to use that. We stained it grey (we used Minwax Wood Finish in Classic Grey) and let it dry.
Once the stain is dry, adhere the stencil in place. We didn’t have any stencil adhesive on hand, so we made due with tape. Cover the remaining exposed wood with newspaper and fill in the stencil using paint (we used ivory spray paint). Let the paint dry and carefully remove the stencil.
And you’re done! That’s all there is to it, quick and easy. I think we will make a similar design for Baby G’s nursery, maybe a cute little giraffe…
