Welcome to our home! We’ve decked the halls and trimmed the tree, Christmas treats are baked and we’re ready to welcome our friends and family…
Once you step in the door our black and white gallery wall greets you with some of our favourite photos of family and friends. This year we hung a simple faux garland along the banister and embellished it with lights, silver ribbon and ornaments.
Our stockings are hung and waiting for Santa to visit!
We’ll head on through to the kitchen.
Throughout the year I like to keep our white kitchen fresh and bright with pops of blue and teal. For the holidays I started by incorporating silver into the mix, but it just wasn’t enough. It didn’t feel like Christmas, so what says Christmas better than red? Nothing! As soon as I added in the classic Christmas colour and a little extra greenery it instantly felt cheery and festive.
I had so much fun decorating the built-in shelves that Nick built when we did our kitchen reno. They are the perfect backdrop to add in holiday decor.
I downloaded this adorable red buggy printable from Craftberry Bush. Lucy is so talented, I love the whimsical designs she creates.
I used rustic elements like the sweet little owl, wooden bowl, pine cones and branch orb, combined with natural greenery and red ornaments and ribbon to give the room a festive holiday feel.
Join me in our dining room and living room for more Christmas inspiration. I think I had the most fun decorating for the holidays in these two rooms. I had the chance to really be creative and make some fun and easy DIY projects and holiday vignettes.
I created a Christmas countdown from the rustic chalkboard Nick built for me this year. Watch for the post on how he created it, it’ll be up soon!
And I finally had the chance to make my own book wreath. I think it turned out beautifully! I promise I’ll be posting this how-to soon too!
In our living room I added a few cozy layers with knitted throws and faux fur pillows. And of course, plenty of candles for some extra warmth!
Thanks for stopping by for our Christmas tour! We hope you enjoyed our home and are leaving with some holiday inspiration of your own!
