Today I’m sharing with you my Wintry Christmas Tablescape. During our Christmas Home Tour you got a sneak peak of our dining table decked out for holiday entertaining, but today I wanted to share a few more pictures that you didn’t get to see.
I kept it simple this year, using silver and white with a little hint of blue. The perfect mix for a wintry wonderland!
I made the table runner from an Ikea curtain panel (we used the other panel for the headboard in our bedroom, you can see it here). It was an easy sewing project and it works year round in our dining room.
I set the table using chargers and dishware we already owned. I’ve talked before about my love of white dishware because it transitions from season to season or event to event. There’s no need to spend a fortune on dishware for every holiday (that is, unless you want to!).
I used our grey and teal napkins to carry the existing colour palette throughout the room. To add a natural feel I tied twine around the napkins instead of using traditional napkins rings and added a few cedar branches to each place setting.
I created these simple tags to use as place cards. I think the design adds a touch of rustic appeal!
I layered the table with silver cone trees, a variety of candles and two small vases filled with fresh greenery to add a bit of colour. The centre piece is an over-sized hurricane vase filled with faux snow, sprigs of cedar and a large candle. It’s simple, but beautiful.
So there you have it…our rustic, wintry tablescape. Simple and classic.
