I’m going to keep this post short and sweet today. Last week I shared my inspiration for our dining room makeover and I promised to share my rustic neutral living room inspiration with you this week.
I’ve created these two design boards to help inspire me to give our dining room and living room a mini makeover. As I mentioned last week, I will be using a lot of the pieces we already own while simply rearranging furniture and incorporating a few new items to help the two rooms feel more cohesive. We’ll also be painting – yay! If you’re looking to make a dramatic change to a space without spending a lot of money, paint is the way to go.
Just like the rest of our home, my inspiration for the living room is based on a neutral colour palette. I’m drawn to neutrals as they are classic and timeless and always create a cozy and inviting space. Read my tips and tricks for decorating with neutrals to easily incorporate them into your home.
In addition to neutrals I also wanted to add a rustic element to our design, playing off of the farmhouse feel of the dining room. Incorporating vintage and natural items, like weathered wood, really help to make a space feel more inviting and lived-in. And of course, they are always great conversation pieces.
I’m hoping to start tackling these two rooms in the next week or so, I’ll be back with lots of updates as I go!

I love your style. What is a great inspiration board. I have that couch is white, but I'm liking that taupe-y color…hum, I may need a new slipcover now

Thank you Emily! Don't you feel like your constantly updating and changing your home. Just when you think you have it right you find something new that catches your eye. My husband jokes he's never sure he's walking into the right house after work everyday because it always looks different. The hazards of blogging…haha!
