I don’t like to go overboard when I decorate for the different seasons. I simply like to inject subtle touches here and there to remind us of the changing beauty that surrounds us.
A few weeks ago I shared our fall home tour with you. It was a departure from my typical decorating style. This year I incorporated bright, bold colours into our fall decor, using mini pumpkins and beautiful seasonal blooms, instead of my usual neutrals.
I really loved how bright and cheerful it made our home feel, but I wanted to keep our bedroom feeling serene and calm. So I incorporated a few subtle touches of the season to add warmth and dimension.
I made this DIY Cotton Wreath a few weeks ago and I absolutely love how it looks above our bed. It is the perfect accent to our DIY Paneled Wall.
I like to keep our bedding simple, nothing too fussy. But once the colder weather hits, I layer in this cozy faux fur throw. It’s extra large, so it fits the length of our king size bed, and it’s so soft and luxurious. It makes for the most comfortable and warm night’s sleep ever.
Speaking of cozy layers, I always pull this faux sheep skin out during the fall and winter. It looks perfect draped over our grey wing back chair, don’t you think?
I moved this DIY Neutral Fall Wreath from our dining room to our bedroom. I love the subtle colours and the added texture of the grapevine wreath and faux foliage. And it adds just a hint of colour to our otherwise cream and grey bedroom.
I bought this gold pumpkin a few years ago and I still love it. It works so well in this little vignette. The shimmer and shine mixed with the natural white wood vase and potted succulent is just perfect.
I hope you enjoyed how I added a few subtle fall touches into our bedroom. Decorating for the different seasons doesn’t have to be expensive, it’s all about using what you have and incorporating a few simple pieces you love!
