There’s nothing quite as magical as the warm glow of Christmas lights on a cold winter’s night. Each evening during the holiday season, as dusk creeps in, I walk throughout our home turning on our Christmas lights and simply bask in the comfort it brings.
It’s a perspective of our home you’ve never seen, and it’s a difficult one to convey. But we did our best to express this magical feeling as we join our friends in this year’s Christmas Night Tour hosted by the sweet Rachel of Maison de Pax.
If you’re coming from Laura’s beautiful home at The Turquoise Home, welcome, it’s so great to have you here. And if you’re one of our regular reader’s…we are so happy to have you back! We really had so much fun capturing this special perspective of our home and we truly hope you enjoy this Christmas night tour!
We even decided to include a video tour of our home shot only in the glow of our holiday lights. Take a peek to see one more special area you’ll only see at the end of this video!
As Christmas eve is fast approaching, we wanted to give you a little glimpse into our home during that special night. It’s always been a festive day, filled with holiday traditions and spent in the company of our loved ones. But since we welcomed our little one into this world (almost two years ago!), Christmas has become even more magical.
The excitement and anticipation mounts as the day progresses and we look forward to the evening when we begin snacking on an assortment of homemade appetizers and snacks.
Our table is simple, as our priority is enjoying our time together, not fussing over fancy place settings and centerpieces.
A fresh cedar garland draped down the center of our farmhouse table is accented with a collection of antique brass candleholders and copper votives to give off a peaceful glow. I just love the feeling that candlelight adds to a space, it’s such a simple and inexpensive way to add ambiance.
In between snacking we cuddle on our beautiful new window bench and keep watch for Santa and his reindeer flying through the night sky.
Once we’ve had all we can eat we move into the comfort of our cozy little living room and stretch out on our sofa under the glow of our Christmas tree. We play board games, sing a few of our favorite Christmas songs, while Nick plays his guitar, and chat about the coming days.
And if our tummies allow we may indulge in some sweet treats and holiday baking.
When we start to notice our little one’s eyelids getting heavier and heavier we head upstairs with our milk and cookies for Santa.
We put on our Christmas PJ’s and snuggle up for my favorite tradition – reading ’Twas the Night Before Christmas. We make sure our stockings are hung on the mantle and Santa’s snack is ready for him to enjoy. After a few more cuddles and kisses it’s time for bed so we can wake up ready to celebrate Christmas morning and all of the beauty the season brings.
We hope you enjoyed this little Christmas Night Tour of ours. You’ll want to make sure you don’t miss any of the beautiful homes today, so be sure to continue to the always-welcoming home of Nina at Nina Hendrick. And remember, you can see all of the tours this week by following the links below.

This is gorgeous. I’d love to know where you got the chandelier above the kitchen table
Alicia says
Hi Lacy, we receive so many questions about this chandelier, unfortunately, we purchased it from a second-hand store many many years ago, and I am not sure of the supplier. I am working on finding a similar option, and once I do I will link it to our Shop Our Home page. 🙂
