If you subscribe to our weekly newsletter you might have already heard the news, but if you missed it, Nick and I are taking on our biggest project yet…
We’re remodeling our family cottage!
Almost 50 years ago, Nick’s grandparents purchased a tiny little cottage on the shores of Georgian Bay. Nick grew up enjoying summers there with his family, and now we get to enjoy it with our girls too. We love spending our days at the cottage, swimming, soaking up the sun and just being together. We also know just how lucky we are to have this magical place to enjoy with family and friends, so we don’t ever take it for granted.
It’s tiny, only about 575 square feet, but it is full of so much potential. With a kitchen, dining room, living room, two bedrooms, and a bathroom, it has everything we need to be comfortable and happy.
Nick’s family has made changes over the years, and it’s come a long way since his grandparents’ purchased it in 1975, but this spring we have got big plans for this tiny little cottage on the water.
Our goal is to create a cozy and inviting space, that also feels cohesive and intentional. And even though it’s a small cottage, it’s still going to be a huge project for us. This remodel will include everything from a brand-new kitchen (built by Nick) to thoughtful and meaningful details to make sure it still feels like our home away from home.
We’re going to share the entire process, from start to finish with you! We hope you’ll join us and remember to follow along on Instagram too because we will share lots of behind-the-scenes moments and sneak peeks!
Stay tuned because early next week we will share a closer look at the cottage with all of the before photos!
