It feels like I was just writing The Best of April 2023 and now we are saying hello to June! I am really looking forward to this month, but before we dive into all that June has to offer let’s take a look back at the month of May.
Last month was full of so many exciting posts and projects, and plans for the months ahead. We started by sharing some of Nick’s favourite products in our Father’s Day Gift Guide. It is full of some really thoughtful and practical ideas! The girls and I have a special gift for Nick this year, but I can’t share it yet because I don’t want to spoil the surprise.
Nick finished building his latest project for our home and it’s a good one. We gave a sneak peek on Instagram yesterday, and we will be sharing it in the next week or two on the blog. We also finally shared a look inside the adorable playhouse Nick built for our girls. It is definitely one of my favourite projects so far, and in honour of it, we rounded up Our Favourite Woodworking Projects. Do you have a favourite?
Speaking of rounding up, this month we also rounded up The Best Toys and Accessories for Kids’ Spaces, Beautiful Interior Design Coffee Table Books, and The Most Realistic Floral Branches and Stems.
And of course, we can’t forget the cottage! Nick’s been spending most of his evenings and weekends there working to finish the remodel before the summer begins. We set up the new sofas, built and painted a fireplace and now Nick is working on building the kitchen, if you missed any of it you can catch up here. I’ve also started moving in a few of the decor pieces and it’s so fun to see it beginning to take shape. It’s going to be absolutely beautiful!
This month we will be sharing so many more great posts, including the latest project Nick built, a look at Ella’s 5th birthday party and a cottage remodel update!
Mirror – We order this mirror for the cottage bathroom because I love the shape of it, plus you can’t beat the price!
Globe Pendant – These pendants are very similar to the ones we have in our kitchen. They are such a timeless choice.
Nightstand – I will always love these nightstands, they are the perfect mix of traditional and modern. We actually built our nightstands for our bedroom based on this design.
Woven Basket – These sweet little baskets are a great price point and an easy way to add texture to any space. We used them to create basket lights in the girls’ playhouse!
Clay Jar – I love the organic shape and texture of this clay vase and the colour is so good.
Rug – We have this rug in our living room and it’s a favourite of ours. The muted colour palette and vintage-inspired print make it a timeless piece. These are some of my other favourites.
Running Shoes – A summer essential, these simple white sneakers would make a great Father’s Day gift.
Sconce – We ordered these sconces for the cottage kitchen and I am so impressed with them. They are heavy and have a beautiful antique brass finish, they look way more expensive than they actually are!
Lidded Baskets – These sweet baskets were on our High Low this month and they are a favourite among designers.
Art Print – I love these vintage art prints, they are such an inexpensive way to change up the art in your home. I recently even rounded up my favourite vintage art for kids’ spaces.
