Recently Ella turned five and we celebrated our fun-loving girl with a colourful Peppa Pig birthday party!
If you’ve been following along for a while, you’ll know I absolutely love celebrating our girls’ birthdays with themed parties that suit their interests and hobbies. It all started when I threw Zoe a circus-themed party after she fell in love with the movie The Greatest Showman, since then I’ve planned everything from a teddy bear picnic to a horse-themed party. I know parties like this aren’t for everyone, but I truly love planning and hosting these birthday parties for our girls. I’ve always said, in another life, I would love to be a party planner!
As always, the girls choose their theme and then I plan the decor, activities and food to coordinate. This year, Ella requested a Peppa Pig party and I had so much fun organizing a celebration that was full of colour, sunshine and little piggies.
Invitations
Hand-delivered (or texted) party invitations are a great way to set the tone of the party right from the start. I designed these simple Peppa Pig-themed invitations on Canva, but Etsy has so many beautiful and affordable options too.
Decorations
The decor is always the most fun and I certainly had fun planning and DIYing all of the Peppa Pig-themed party decor for Ella’s party.
If you’ve seen the Peppa Pig TV show, you’ll know it’s full of vibrant colours so I included every colour in the rainbow in some way or another, along with playful details that appear in the show like daisies and the always shining sun.
Nick built a lifesize Peppa Pig house that became the backdrop for the party. The little yellow house with a red roof is a familiar sight for Peppa Pig fans, and it looked so cute surrounded by a colourful balloon garland. I created the balloon garland using balloons of different sizes in pink, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Clear pink, a smiling sun and cloud balloons add a whimsical touch. If you look closely, you’ll see I even made a few daisies from balloons and added them to the mix.
Of course, we couldn’t forget Peppa, this lifesize Peppa Pig balloon was a hit with the kids!
Ella and I made these fun Peppa Pig character masks. We printed each character’s face on cardstock, cut them out and used hot glue to attach a wood dowel to the back. While we were out at it, we also made these playful flags. Again, we printed them on cardstock, cut them out, used hot glue to attach the dowel and tied each one with three colourful ribbons.
I also had Peppa Pig party hats and colourful headbands with pig ears for the kids to wear.
Table
I topped our new outdoor dining table with a light blue tablecloth with lace trim. I set it using a mix of dark pink and yellow sun-shaped paper plates, matching pink cups, die-cut cloud napkins and wood utensils.
I created this colourful floral arrangement for the center using local peonies and wildflowers. I added a few Peppa Pig toys and scattered a mix of faux daisies and paper confetti down the center of the table.
It was fun, playful and full of colour!
Cake, Cupcakes and Cookies
Our cake baker extraordinaire made the most adorable Peppa Pig cake for Ella. I know I can always rely on her to take my elaborate ideas and create a cake that is perfect in every single way. Her cakes are seriously a work of art, I think this one is my all-time favourite.
We also enlisted Nick’s mom, who is an amazing baker, to create these sweet and colourful cupcakes for the party too! She topped each one with colourful icing, sprinkles and a sweet icing daisy.
Another fun addition we included this year is custom sugar cookies in the shape of clouds, suns and daisies. We put them out for the party, but they would make sweet party favours too!
Goodie Bags
When it comes to goodie bags, I always try to think of ideas that are both fun and usable. This year, I came across these sensory jar ideas on Etsy and I knew we could recreate them at home. They are simply small containers filled with playdough or slime and theme-related embellishments and toys to play with in the playdough.
Together, Ella and I made sparkly pink homemade playdough for each jar and included beads, faux daises, butterfly jewels and pompoms. I wrapped the jars in a cellophane bag, tied a thank you tag to each bag with a ribbon, and added a colourful hair clip to each one.
While I always enjoy planning these special parties for our girls, I really loved that Ella wanted to help so much this year. It gave us some extra time together and stretched our creativity and imagination. We hope these ideas will help you host your own Peppa Pig birthday party and create an unforgettable experience for your little one and all of their friends!

How did your husband make the house?? My daughter is having a Peppa party and I want to do something similar!!
Nick says
Hi Bridget,
I just used some scrap pieces I had around the garage. I used 1/4″ boards to create it. It’s literally pieced together out of random pieces so I don’t have a plan for it. Then I just painted the details and trimmed out the windows and door with some 3/4″ scraps I had.
