Material: Blindsgalore offers free samples to ensure you are choosing the right material for your space. We ordered a number of samples prior to choosing both the shades for our home and our cottage. It’s really helpful to see the material and colour in your space before placing an order.

We chose a light honey-coloured grass material for the shades in our home, and while it’s been discontinued there are a number of similar options available. We wanted something a little different for the cottage and chose a grass material in a richer colour that played well with the dark tone of the floor.

These shades come in different materials, like bamboo and natural weaves, but personally, I really love the look of a grass shade. It has a really natural appearance, adding subtle texture and warmth to any space.

Size: The shades from Blindsgalore are not a one-size-fits-all. Their shades are made to fit the exact measurements of your windows based on your preference for an inside or outside mount.

We have installed both inside and outside mounts and love the look of both. An inside mount gives your windows a simple and streamlined look, while an outside mount is a great way to create the illusion of a larger window.

Lift: Blindsgalore also provides a number of lift options for their shades, from a standard cord to cordless and even motorized.

We chose the cordless option as it not only creates a clean look, but it’s much safer as well, ensuring little ones and pets will not become tangled in cords.

Liner: Depending on the room and your needs, Blindsgalore offers three different liners. Opting for an unlined shade provides a beautiful light-filtering effect, a privacy liner looks natural from the outside while helping to reduce light, and a blackout liner blocks out approximately 97% of light.

Typically we choose the privacy liner as we feel it provides enough privacy for us while keeping our rooms dark enough for sleeping. We did add a blackout liner to the nursery shade which was great for daytime naps.
