Recently I shared Four Simple Ways to Decorate for Fall, and one of my suggestions included incorporating seasonal art throughout your home as a simple nod to the season.
As always, while embracing a new season, I choose to focus on subtle changes that evoke a feeling of warmth and comfort. Seasonal art is the perfect opportunity to do this, the nostalgic scenes create a sense of comfort while adding an element of fall to your space.
While authentic pieces of art are amazing, they can sometimes be difficult to find or expensive to purchase. Over the years I’ve shared my favourite vintage art prints and how I print them on canvas and frame in antique frames to create the look of an authentic antique piece for a fraction of the price. I use this same idea for the seasonal art I layer throughout our home each year.
I am drawn to antique paintings that capture the essence of autumn landscapes and people from bygone eras. These pieces often depict scenes of the countryside bathed in the warm, golden hues of fall or the charm of a past era, where people engaged in simple activities like harvesting crops, gathering livestock, or strolling through orchards. These paintings not only showcase the skill of the artists but also provide a glimpse into the past, evoking a sense of a simpler time.
These are a few of my favourite vintage autumnal art.
